this isn't his most content dense, lyrical album, but it's an album i enjoy listening to. we're not going to get another blueprint, reasonable doubt hov. he's gone up 5 income brackets since that era. why don't people understand that your interests and lifestyle changes affect what you spit about. his income streams have diversified and his tastes have changed. this isn't lyrically technical at all, but i appreciate the production he selected with him just spitting what's on his mind in a relaxed format. the pattern we've seen over the years is his flow becoming more and more relaxed with more simple lines. some people don't like braggadocious jay, but his true fans know that's what he's always been about. since when has jay been a humble rapper? why do you expect him to humble himself all of a sudden and reintroduce his volume 1 and 2 flows? and for those who keep referencing american gangster....that was a concept album...it was inspired from the movie so it mocked much of the entertainment and drama that he saw on screen. i'm not saying you can't like the album. i can listen to it objectively and see where some people may find it flimsy, but that's only because you're comparing it to a ghost of something that no longer exists. hov' is 43 and you nikkas keep acting like he's some young nikka who has so much to prove. he survived marcy projects, rose to fame and became one of the highest selling hip hop acts of all time, he's covered TIME magazine, married Beyonce...she had his seed...he's worth half a billi. warren buffet and donald trump keep writing books...mostly the same shyt...some people complain...smart people are happy for the new gems they drop in between the lines even if they have to endure some repetition. it's a nice gesture that they still share insights from their life at all why can't nikkas have the same respect for hov? he is the warren buffet of this community...
but no you nikkas want to bytch and whine about every little thing and pick apart whatever you can. if you don't like it then fine...but just tell me what more do you want? because the same people who claim to hate him so much don't even know what they want from him...they only know what they don't.

I'am tired of ppl acting like I need to be fan of his life. Music is entertainment to me that's it. I expect his content to change but I don't need to like every change.

I listen to this album and don't feel :mj: that alot of people seem to have. Maybe cause Jay doesn't inspire me.

If you're wack, you should hang it up. He's wack now.

Prodigy is rapping better than Hov right now. Real talk.

Albert Einstein was pretty good...

I agree with you, but I think Prodigy is better by a smaller margin. At least he got his flow back and still has a knack for gritty bars and such, not at dope as before but it's a step in the right direction.

Jay is just all flow at this point. Nothing he says really sticks out. He still has his wordplay but it's not as good as before.
