Nas is to the conscious MC what Ryu is to Street Fighter/video games.
You pretty much answered your own question. But it's in the optics. Conscious MCs for the longest were usually looked at as only making music addressing social/political/blue collar, etc topics and content, so anything that is the opposite may seem contradictory or hypocritical to the average consumer. Not realizing that a skilled artist is a walking contradiction (as most of us are). Perspectives can be just as layered as the individual and that translates in the music.
Hell if you never heard a Nas song in your life, would you assume that One Mic and Oochie Wally were made by the same individual off first listen based on subject matter?

Oochie Wally was so far left for what Nas was known for it did look hypocritical in a way. That song is wayyyyyyy past something like "You Owe Me"(a song that is overheated, IMO) and into super demeaning territory for a rapper who seems against that in regards to BW.
Jay on the other hand was never a conscious rapper, although he often gave advice in his lyrics.
