no doubt, but NO team can afford to have a backup center eating up that much of the cap. especially next year when it goes to $15M. their hand is gonna be forced and they will have to unload him this season to make it worth it for another team.

that CANNOT happen. dude is like 7'2", slow, and not skilled enough to play that position. truth be told, if a gun were to my head, I'd put dwight @ the PF before Asik. sadly, dwight has more offensive skill and post game than asik.

houston was able to spread the deal out over the 3 years evenly because the CBA allowed them to cuz they were under the cap at the time that they signed him and lin. I dont know if that rule applies to a team that trades for him tho.

It does. He makes 5-5-15 but the way its structured because chicago didnt match, it's 8-8-8 against the cap, even if they trade him.
