Why would anyone want to be a henchman for a villain?

Most supervisors are the same way OP. At least the ones I've had in recent years. They don't give a fukk about you and are only concerned about their agenda. The verbal abuse might not be as bad as a villain/henchman scenario, and disobeying them may not lead to your immediate death, but it could lead to you getting reprimanded in other ways. Getting fired which could lead to financial ruin which is a type of economic death.

Sometimes people don't have options, so they get stuck in a situation working with someone that doesn't have their best interest at heart.
