Wii U heads: how does the Virtual Console compare to the PSN in terms of throwback gaming?

Does the Virtual Console have a wide variety of Nintendo/Snes/Nintendo 64/Nintendo Ds/3DS/Game Cube games?

Off topic: is the Wii U completely backward compatible with Wii games?

Because its mostly throwback gaming. And they got titles (on the original wii) like new versions of older games like...

Blaster Master
You know what, I'm not about to even get into all that.

i haven't messed with PSN like that to be honest to know what throwback games they got....but the virtual console pretty much has every NES/Sega/Genesis/SNES/TurboGrafx/NeoGeo game you'd even care to play and then some...

Wii was not HD so the answer is no. There are some n64 games but no GC games, not HD. But VC on wii and VC on Wii u are different. Wii has really good VC. Wii U doesn't. There's only a handful of titles on Wii U VC currently

He was talking about the wii. You can still access the wii shop on wii u ut only in wii mode because most of those titles haven't been added to the wii u e-shop. It's a little bit of a hassle but it is possible. This probably sounds confusing

The wii mode is like a different section to the main wii u section. There's a wii icon you click to go into wii mode and it takes about 20 seconds to load and then you use it like a wii. You then can download titles to the wii section of the wii u. If the title is also in the wii u eshop it's best to just get it from there but if you get a title from the wii section and it later comes out on wii u eshop you can download it from there for like a buck fifty if you want to access it from the wii u section.

It's a hassle but yes, you can download titles off the wii shop onto the wii section of your wii u, or you can wait for it to be released directly on the wii u eshop. The wii section has lots of VC titles but the wii u section does not. GC games aren't on either. Also handheld games are only on the handheld 3ds eshop

Imma keep it real with you. The Virtual console and the eshop are an embarrassment. really isn't much on there.
The Wii U is a cool console though. I copped one on Black Friday. Its especially good for those that have never had a Wii. This is my first Nintendo console since the NES.
