Since Tony Gwynn no one has seriously threaten to bat .400 Even tho most ball parks are hitter friendly. Can it be done brehs?
It could happen again but it's highly unlikely. This is one of the records that just seems almost unreachable. But I think someone batting 400 again is more likely than say someone averaging 50 points again.
I can see someone never breaking Dimaggio's 56 game hitting streak, but .400 is definetely reachable. It takes a Gwynn-Ichiro type hitter in their prime. .400 is more of a milestone-record,cause its taking over 70 years for ap layer to hit 40% of his at bats, thats amazing in itself

I don't think either one of them will ever get broken to keep it real. But you can have a 30 game hitting streak and still be just over halfway there so yeah that's probably never gonna happen again.
.400 can be done in our lifetime.Nobody saw Cabrera getting a Triple Crown so anything is possible in baseball. Its not Who its more of When...The closest anyone ever came to Dimaggio was Pete Rose hitting 44 in a row. Rollins had 38,these records arent impossible just extremely difficult. With the hitters out now,you never know.400 can be done in our lifetime.Nobody saw Cabrera getting a Triple Crown so anything is possible in baseball. Its not Who its more of When...
Thats what im surprised at as well.Just fact that Cabrera could possible achieve it again this year :krs; makes that even more crazy. Before Cabrera,Kemp had a shot in 2011.So it was inevitable Triple Crown would be achieved.Best believe somebody can bat .400. A hitting streak seems way harder imo.You got a point but I've always thought the Triple Crown could be done again. I was actually surprised that Bonds or Ramirez never got one especially when Bonds was going off between 2001-2004.
Joe Mauer hit .365 in 09. The last time I remember a player having a shot at it.
He was batting .436 into June, by July he was at .388
