Or at least an nomination? I mean it's general consensus that TDK was snubbed since the Academy decided the next year to reinstate the 10 film field aka "The Dark Knight Rule". I know a lot of people think the AA is a popularity contest but putting that aside, do you see it ever happening? I think the only way it happens is if it's based off of a graphic novel :manny:

Lowkey, The Winter Soldier had me so hype walking out, that I thought it should have been considered :lolbron:

It'll be some lesser known shyt that gets a shot, that won't have the weight of studio expectations on it to be like every other flick in its catalog.

I mean... its possible. But the issue is that almost all comic book movies have to dedicate time to forcing an origin story in - and they almost always suck. Maybe down the line though. They're actually getting some big names in those movies now so they're only a good director/producer combo away from making it happen imo.

Voted no....cause no matter how good the movie is, it'll still be looked at as a 'popcorn flick' or whatever else name they wanna use to dismiss the film...

I think the academy does it to try to show they are 'better' than others...by that I mean: they tend to pick films that the majority of common folk don't care about (king's speech anyone), acting like it's the best thing since slice bread; while also acting like the movies that the majority of common folk do care about aint shyt...they get really snobbish about that shyt....

Ledger won an Oscar and he was the only one, including the movie itself, that deserved one. I can see an argument for TDK getting a nomination, but if you think it was a better movie than Slumdog Millioniare, Milk, or Frost/Nixon then I don't know what to tell you. As for if a superhero film will ever get nominated: maybe:manny:

It's still a great flick, but I had to be un-hyped to actually see the flaws. I was ready to accept that as movie-Jesus :heh:
I'm not THAT up on comic books, but from what I know about the war that happens between Captain America and Iron Man and the politics of it all COULD be a really great film

It could be a great political thriller but they will probably throw some comic relief in there for no reason and that right there would DQ it from contention.
