For all you younger heads, Google Milli Vanilli. They were a huge rnb/pop act who were not only exposed on stage for lip-syncing, but then found out that other ppl were writing and SINGING their songs on the records.

Their career was over literally over night. They had to give Grammy's back and other major awards.

Do ppl nowdays care about authenticity, or just a hot record?

We all knew Dr Dre was ghosted by Snoop and others, but nobody respected Dre as a lyricist anyway.

If all this is true will Drake survive and still be respected by fans?

I dont like drake and i enjoy him getting exposed.. but ion know :patrice: to many thots and cacs fukk with drake... we have to see what happens if he drops his next album and it still does numbers or not.

Edit: drake will not be respected by people who really like hip hop, but he will still be respected by thots, cacs, and people who only like a hot track.

Edit 2: i still want to see a DMX interview, he never liked drake from the start and i bet he ready for a rant on his ass being fake.

No people won't care. If anything I think rappers will become like bands. 5 members, one guy writes the lyrics, one guy makes the beats, one guy raps the song, one guy does the adlibs, one guy does dancing and it will all be under the umbrella of one name like Drake. In the future we'll have bands who won't even do any of that but be just a bunch of pretty faces and people won't give fukk when they get exposed. Good bye rap, nice to know ya

I mean these these days, no younger ppl really care about lip syncing or true talent live on stage.

So maybe nothing will happen.

Nothing will happen.

He's still the hottest rapper out right now and his next album will still go platinum. 10-20 years ago this would've impacted him, but now...nah.

This will die down and then he'll drop an album and people will move on like it never happened

It depends on how the rest of the entertainment industry reacts to this. The mainstream audience is very fickle and they'll support you as long you're hot, but once you start slipping they're the first ones to abandon ship.

If Drake really starts getting clowned hard and made to look a joke in the public eye, it's over for him. But if this goes away in the next few weeks and nobody really addresses it, I think he'll be damaged but it won't end his career.

You're right. If there was a 2002 50 Cent on the horizon who was making hot music, hungry to make a name, Drake would be in trouble.

The quality of the records won't get worse it's just now ppl will look at him as a performer more so than a lyricist...as long as the songs r hits I doubt the public at large will care

this is not anywhere near a milli vanilli situation should dr dre or diddy give back their awards since they didnt write the songs on their rap albums stop comparing drake situation to milli vanilli
