Oh shyt, I just remembered this clown was simping over some basic British racist Becky. I’m sure she didn’t even give him a whiff of the puss. He kept trying to make her happen despite her history of beating up a black toilet attendant. fukk him and his c00n ass.:camby:

A genre created by a black people doesn't make it a black genre, don't you see the difference? The music has to be made with black people in mind specefically, content has to be related to black people, and black people have to actually fukk with it. House was created to get Europeans,Latinos and homosexuals just as hype as everyone else. Same with Rappers Delight styled early hiphop, not black enough to be considered a black genre. Thats damn near what Black Eyed peas does now.
Breh you are on the brink of some smart-dumb nikka shyt:francis: And I'm being kind

maybe he just regrets decisions in retrospect. but dude clearly went out of his way to crossover into the pop-iest of music. no way u out here featuring britney spears on records and confused why black folks hav no connection to your music.

still think dude is super talented. he couldve easily been seen as pharrell-like figure. songs about girls was amazing.

The tug of war was about my sexuality and how much of that I was willing to like, literally strip down,” she continues. “I never wanted to be objectified while doing my music. ‘Where’s your voice? Where are you?’”When it came to the Black Eyed Peas’ voice, Hill and the other members had conflicting opinions on how they should evolve. She believed it was the group’s “duty to progress [hip-hop],” she says, adding that its uniqueness was being “happy at a time in hip-hop where it really wasn’t okay to just be happy.”

She resented that outside voices wanted to stamp out their edginess, but at the same time, she understood her bandmates’ didn’t have her privilege to refuse the demands of a burgeoning career.“The pressure started coming to, like, soften it up and make it super-commercial. was like, ‘We’re not really going to do that, are we?’” Hill recalls. “And the guys were like, ‘You don’t have to go back to East L.A. if this doesn’t work out.’”:mjpls:

What's wrong with going back to live in East LA?? They weren't even popping yet but they felt they were to good for el barrio:troll:
I remember that interview. Kim Hill had a little bit of money and was living more comfortable than they were. She also came from a better home growing up. Them other cats were dead broke and it was taking a toll on them.

Make no mistake about it, BEPs sell out was 100% deliberate, them nikkas felt they were too talented to starve. Only thing about it is now they have money and in Will’s case now he’s contemplating his legacy and wishing he sold out less. He should have kept his solo efforts pure instead of trying to become a pop star in his own right. Dude is an AMAZING producer.

Ignore him Breh. Whites copy everything. That doesn't make it " succeptable to being taken over by whites." He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Are you denying theyve taken over genres?theyve copied but not actually havent take over everything musically speaking. Last i checked they havent taken over rnb and soul which has been around forever, and they havent taken over hiphop which is as about as old as house, nor reggae. So why were some taken over and the others werent? I rest my case, the ones not taken over were/are black genres. The rest were created by black people, taken over by white people because they werent black genres. Simple enough for you.

Your " succeptable to being taken over by whites" is bullshyt because whites copy everything we do. That is what I am saying. Whites heavily infiltrated both r&b and hip hop and if you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.

Do folk even remember them before they went pop? shyt was like night and day but also so blatant. Kick out the siesta, bring in the white girl and change your sound. Made millions but are now known as a pop group. Will made his choice.

Or being known as solid black music artists, no crossover appeal

Pharrel did music with her. :usure:

Timberlake is no different than Britney and a lot of black artists rode his wave.

Yep!

Like I said before in a way I totally get it. If you look at the mini doc they did on Kim, they were REALLY trying to make it as a pure hip hop group but the dudes were legit on some starving artist shyt. Its fukked up to have to FEEL like you gotta sell out in order to make a decent living let alone become as successful as they ended up becoming.

In the end Will got to work with some “true” Hip Hop artists. He was the lead producer for Nas on Hip Hop Is Dead and had some DOPE beats on there. He gave The Game FIRE for Doctor’s Advocate. So if Will HIMSELF wants to be seen as more of a “black” artist/producer he’s got the credentials.

But that Black Eyed Peas ship sailed the moment Fergie was, not only put in the group, but made the FACE of it. Sorry.

I’ll always bump Joints and Jams though
