His father is black, mother is Filipino.

Yep J rey is also half black and half Filipino.

I never considered them a black group even when they came out back in the day and were 100% hip hop. Cause they had the indigenous mexican dude in the group.

Same with Cypress hill. B real is half black cuban, sen dog is full black cuban but DJ muggs was white. So I didn't consider them a black group.

At the dame time mello man ace (sen dog brother) is 100% black cuban and I considered him a black rapper.

On another note I seen there is a push to get white artists on versuz

Don't do it we have so many of our artists that can use that platform

It will be over run with them and it will be over taken like so many other things started by us

:francis:

Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco did a versus back in the summer. It was dope, if you like pop music and if your into music production.

The hell? Did he just say that the Black eyed peas not being seen as a Black group is bad for black people:laff:? Im pretty sure he would've been one of those dudes who thought he was a genius at the time and wouldve told you "Don't box me in as black music:mjpls:". Thats what makes this all the more hilarious. I broke it down in this thread and people got upset when I said house isn't black music, and rock n roll and early hiphop weren't black music. I think I changed most peoples minds by the end of the thread.

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/do-black-creators-neccessarily-make-a-genre-black-i-say-no-some-say-yes.645169/

A black creator of a genre doesn't make the genre black. A genre that is succeptable to being taken over by whites isn't a black genre imo. So how the hell can a group that can be taken over by a white woman be a black group:martin:?
if I remember correctly. NO YOU DID NOT:mjlol:

you got decimated in that thread:mjlol:

Honestly, they've always been wack and corny to me.

I remember in the early-mid 00s they were competing or something with acts like the p*ssycat Dolls and some other poppy seed ass group(s) :mjlol:.

At one point I thought the group was white for the most part and he happened to be that one black person in the group that either plays an instrument or randomly shouting ad-libs.
