It's a damn shame black celebrity doesn't afford more than what we have now.

Should be no damn reason we don't have at least a decent tv network to watch our own shyt, we shouldn't have to use any white sources of anything with all that power we supposedly have in show business...ridiculous

We know how certain people are when it comes to Black vs White products. Especially when the Black product ain’t pandering to white people.

Streaming killed most of BET’s content.

Teen Summit and BET News wasn’t gonna keep the lights on.

I’m not sure why there isn’t a Black version of Telemundo tho…

it really was…I remember the year before (2004) my cousin was living with me at the time…I forgot what spurred the conversation but I remember saying there’d be a time when gay men would have more rights than black men…not to say that they shouldn’t have rights but to show how undervalued black men would continue to be in this country…that aside 2004-2006 was a pivotal time in my life so it still feels like “yesterday” as opposed to almost 20 years ago

I feel you on this. 2001 to 2004 was a pivotal time in my life, and it feels like it was just yesterday. Sometimes the years before, or the years after that period feel like a blur. But in that 4 year stretch, I remember everything that happened. It's amazing.
