Most rappers will never make an album as good as Ready to Die, Doggystyle, or Illmatic. Those are classics in the purest form. GKMC is up there with those albums imo.

The only thing Jay Z can fight Nas with at this point is who can stay relevant the longest. He's doing everything he can too. Nas on the other hand has been able to stand on his own over the long haul. He didn't need a fancy record label and chain, he didn't need to piggy back off other artists and jump on their records and he didn't need to marry a super star artists and always put her on his songs or jump on her songs. Nas has set a standard so high for quality lyrics that he's only battling himself in that regard.
