Yeah I agree.No. It shouldn't have to either. If you're depending on musicians to be the life blood of your community then that means you're lacking in many other resources and that's not a good thing.
As a medium, nothing comes close to it, and hip hop culture has for better or for worse, filled the culture void left by slavery. We should take it seriously in conversations about rebuilding the black community.

Its a medium, a vehicle for information, and in this, its unmatched. Putting a message in a rap song, will reach more members of the black community than any book... save the bible.no it isnt
