America's next president will likely be a right winger who is anti war and anti unlimited money to Israel. Believe it or not, it might actually be Tucker Carlson. The possibility scares me but he's the more dangerous successor to Trump.
I'll break it down:
1. America loves a political outsider. Donald Trump has been in the DC swamp too long and made it worse. Tucker Carlson is an outsider just like Trump was in 16.
2. America doesn't care about corruption. Congress' approval ratings are in the gutter because these mfs don't care about stopping lobbyists, overturning citizens united, decentralization of ownership of the media etc. So tucker being a multimillionaire with backing from Russia will not matter. The American public has shown over the past 15 years that it does not care and congress itself does not care about punishing it's own. He's independently wealthy so he can fund his own campaign without needing donors, but the donors will rock with him anyway since his interests allign with theirs. The rich have far better class solidarity than the poor and have succeeded in coming together like voltron to make their needs front and center in the media and political system. He understands this.
3. His political instincts are superior to the main stream. He understands the majority of people do not want their tax dollars going to Israel and the majority of people are sick of watching the deficit grow and grow.
4. He is media trained and knows exactly how to get around the type of questions that will be asked because he literally comes from that background.
5. He has an existing brand that is well known in all 50 states. People know who he is and his popularity has continued to grow since he started running his own media. He understands that real political organization and information isn't being informed by legacy media, but by online spaces. He is showing skill in manipulating both old media AND new media. Just like Trump did.
He's a far more terrifying prospect for America because unlike Trump, he's far younger and knows how to appeal to gen X conservatives since he is one, and knows how to appeal to boomer conservatives because every night for several years he was on their TV.
Democrats(except people like Zohran, Bernie, summer Lee etc.) Are still obsessed with winning over lobbying groups and old media. They're still obsessed with keeping the status quo that the vast majority of people are not okay with. They really think people want incremental change instead of serious change. Actual leftism(removing ineffective systems and replacing them with ones more rooted in actual reality instead if the pseudo-reality that the donor class exists in) is something that democrats are not ready to adopt. A guy like Bernie would be considered a basic liberal or centrist in a country like France or Canada. Here he might as well be white Mao Zedong the way people talk about him.
