He could...but a big problem IMO with these hitmaker producers is that's how people judge them, and if Storch just ending up making a string of dope music that would be really good, but people would still say he fell off. When people like him market themselves as these massive hit-makers though, just making dope shyt isn't enough.
I know that's not what the thread is about, but I think it's smarter to just carve a lane as a dope producer generally, and if you get some hits then cool.
Otherwise you run the risk of ending up like Storch, where he either needs to make another hit, attach himself to a new sound or crew, or find a way to sort of reinvent himself.
