Will "Squashes" in the main event be the new trend in wrestling?

All I know is the replay lasted longer than the match. If the WWE knows what's good for them they'll NEVER let nothing like that happen again.

The new trend in WWE should be that the matches are less cookie cutter. Everyone was expecting 15 kickouts last night and the usual WWE pace. They talked about this on Observer Radio yesterday - if people feel like the match could end at any moment then they will be into the whole match

It was a typical '97 Goldberg match with an extra Spear. Now if it was the typical '97 crowd they wouldn't let that shït fly for a second. They'd have had to rush Brock & Goldberg out the arena like they did Shawn 19 years ago in Montreal. These fans today are soft as Hell.

Pardon my little rant, I just watched the match 15 minutes ago & got pissed. Not that I expected a classic or nothing but damn. LOL!!! But they won't make a trend out of that. Jewberg was hurt from yelling on Monday so that's why they went with that finish.

A lot smarter and more interesting ways of accomplishing that without burying your entire business.

You don't know what effect last night's main event will have on business..it's been 24 hrs. A bunch of complaining people on the internet is the only aftermath so far, which happens every week anyway

If you thought this match should be anything other than a squash.
YOU ARE NOT A SMART.
only discussion about this match should be WWE actually doing the accurate thing right for the business and setting up the match.
To where the very future hung in the balance and keeping everyone awaiting if.
the WWE would make the right decision booking wise.

Real talk,...
This also had to happen because WWE inaccurrately booked the key matches to redebut Brock and also made horrible decisions.
as far as the product and outcomes are concerned since Brock returned.
So, this was the only and best booking decision and WWE actually booked this well enough.
That you had to watch to see if they still knew any semblence of the business at its core and they showed they were not fully inept and smart enough.
to create intrique and anxiety whether they would FINALLY book the right decision when it counted.
Where the end result was they actually did everything right, too.

It had to be a complete squash one way or the other.

A complete squash and the way it was done was a great subtle but exciting add to the physical encounter.
to offer Brock an out and also put Goldberg over in the manner he should have went over.
I had to sit back and wait to see if this company was fully inept.
on the biggest booking decision in wrasslin history moving forward and given the road the business is on.
That at least they knew the bitness well enough.
to get the standard ideals of booking accurate in this decision.
Kudos all around to the WWE cause it was not gon be pretty if they got this decision wrong.

Oh if they got this wrong the rant to definitively win the war would have been mine cot damn it,..
But alas,...the tables on standby were put away and this company got it right when it really mattered.
Now if only they could get all the other shyt right.

I doubt it, but I do hope it means more "flash KO" type finishes on TV at least. If they're trying to portray it as something more akin to UFC than what it was in the 80s, guys of the highest caliber competing every night, it makes no sense that every match has to go a certain amount of time and have a certain finish. At the highest levels, you get caught slipping even for a second and your night is done. Maybe in one hit. I posted a while back about how the entire WWE style could be remedied by "outta nowhere" type finishes, where guys win a match with a signature instead of finisher or a random move they normally don't do. It makes all the MOVEZ MOVEZ MOVEZ SPOT SPOT SPOT FINISH REVERSAL KICK OUT FINISHER KICK OUT shyt have immediate stakes where throwing out all those movez and spots could actually end the match at any time.

You saw that on the rest of the show as well, like Usos eliminating New Day immediately with one shot because Kofi was being cocky and not paying attention, or Charlotte booting people for eliminations.

I think it wouldn't be a good look for them. Everyone knows it's scripted entertainment so if they do squashes in the main event then everyone is going to create the assumption that Vince just wants your money and nothing else. Squash ME's happen....Once in a lifetime (ha!). Would be a back look for them.

Sorry, no way to spin this. That shyt was cool for the moment and Social Media but as u try to look back at this event and see Lesnar vs Brock lasted 30 seconds, it leaves a sorry taste in your mouth

Id rather it have been at a B-event say "Goldberg vs Kevin Owens" and Goldberg beat him in seconds to hype up Lesnar vs Bill @ RR

But squashing Brock was just wack and it just shows u Brock just likes the money cause real main eventer super attraction (Hogan, Cena, HBK) wont lose in 30 seconds just for shock value
