Will these insane RAM prices affect the Scorpio's price?

I think it's mostly DDR4 that's expensive now, because a lot of smart phones are using it. this increased demand for bulk DDR4 means there's less available for consumers, so it's being sold at a premium

the Scorpio uses GDDR5. GDDR5 isn't even a consumer product, in that you can't just buy a stick of GDDR5. it comes with GPU's, or in this case video game consoles. so I doubt the current RAM prices will affect Scorpio at all. the PS4 also uses GDDR5, and it hasn't been affected

I don't know how RAM is manufactured exactly, I thought all types had been affected

Any negative industry hit that occurs after the set price and quantity has been contracted to, Msft will be perfectly fine still charging the expected price.

I'm not paying for that when their first party catalogue is trash. I really want to like XBOX(I did own a 360 briefly), but the price isn't justified without quality titles.

I'd be DOA at that price with its current catalogue. I doubt they release it at such a high price

With all the fairly new tech that this console is suppose to have, I doubt it will be any less than $600, otherwise, they would be drastically reducing profit, or even, taking loses on each unit sold. Time will tell.

I can't imagine this being more than $500. Even that price would make it DOA, but it would be somewhat "reasonable."

Really, they need to put it out at $400 if they want it to have legs.

PS4 Pro is selling quite well. It's selling more than they even forecasted which is a definite plus.

It's best to get a Xbox live account asap so you can stock up on free games then have a library once you actually get a job...
