I'm starting to watch some Terry Rudge and that dude is fukking awesome :banderas:

WOS had some dope shyt, glad I'm finally watching it :wow:

If you come across them, Cowboy Bret Hart and there is a early Owen Hart vs Marty Jones match. Not sure if it is that match but there is one when he was in WOS, where they were trying to stop him from doing his top rope moves.

Jim Ross(J.R)-"If I were a young in ring talent in today's world then DVD study of my predecessors would be a a regular part of my weekly routine just as is going to the gym and eating smartly. Some talents will spend more time 'tanning,' playing video games, etc than watching the work of stars of previous generations which is somewhat pathetic when one thinks about it".

samoans take to pro wrestling so easy..i wonder why that is?

The history they have in the business for starters. Secondly probably the physicality of the industry, just look at the sports Samoan's/Islanders excel at, Gridiron, Rugby and Pro wrestling which co-insides with their warrior history they have. Samoan's are good because they bring the legit feel to a 'staged fight' with the look and moves.

I loved Regal's physicality and his technical ability, but he lacked the charisma and athleticism to emerge as a main eventer.

Even in WCW, where he wrestled as Lord Steven Regal, he was a TV Champion and a tag team wrestler.

With that said, his advice is focussed on industry successful. It was not focussed on being the next Roman Reigns or John Cena. (And, yes, I chose those two on purpose.)

The guy had HHH as a strong ally, which is basically the best political position you can be in save for sharing Jameson's and soda with Vince himself, and could never get past a couple forgettable IC title runs. At some point we have to scrutinize the talent and stop making excuses.

Let's face it, the guy never even had a consequential PPV match.

Again I respect Regal and happen to like him very much, but the guy may be the biggest underachiever in modern history.

And yet the White boys won't push them as World Champions. They are reduced to tag teamers and "savage" singles wrestlers.

It is an indictment on WWE & WCW that few Samoans carried the belt.
  • Yokozuna was repackaged as Japanese.
  • And Dwayne was always packaged as a tan skinned White boy. Unlike Yokozuna, the 'E could pass him as a de-raced person, remarking upon his heritage as something that lurks in his parentage.
I dig Dwayne, btw, but Black folk know what he sacrificed/sold in order to make it as "The Rock."

Regal may be an eternal mid carder, but he always got his gimmick over. Well nearly every gimmick, Man's Man he was too fukked up at the time, he would of got it over in the end.

The Bobby Eaton stuff is gold. No one does better expressions than Regal. Also Larry Zbyszko (sp) took himself out of semi retirement in WCW to work with Regal because he liked his work so much and was able to generate proper heat. Regal early WCW work is piff.

Rugby and American Football are basically the only two sports pacific islanders play. The durability, usable strength, and explosiveness (and insanity) necessary for wrestling is second nature to them. Then add in the huge factor of all the wrestling islanders being very close, thus kids are growing up surrounded by all that first-hand experience.
