That's sad.
how? when i was a kid i got toys and stuff for my birthday. it was special because of that. it was a day i could get stuff i otherwise wouldn't get. i'm an adult with a job if i want something i can buy it myself. its the same with Christmas. when i could get the things i wanted on my own the day lost any significance.
my birthday isn't till June and i don't drink.

It's sad because it signifies you have no friends.
Do you know how many calls and invites to go out that people with friends get on their birthday. I can not have a single thing planned for my birthday but when the day comes its guaranteed people are going to want to hang with me and do something.

breh you cant compare your birthday to christmas.I agree christmas is a kids holiday but your bday is the day you was brought into this world,it should be a special day for you and everyone who loves you...and it aint all about getting gifts either,just celebrate and have a good time doing whatever you like doing with the people you close to

i'm not one to delude myself into thinking just because i have positive social interaction with others that fact makes them my friend. most people have very few if any friends. many of the people they consider friends are just people they have positive social interaction with but the relationship has only had minor stress or none at all.
here's a good test to determine if a person is a friend. if said friend walked up to you and asked to borrow $5000 for a week and all you have is $5500 to your name but all your bills were paid up for the month if you wouldn't give them that money without question or second thought that person isn't a friend. if you gave it to them and they never paid you back not a friend.

nobody outside of maybe my parents loves me. i am a recluse. if you don't know that that means its a person who voluntarily forgoes interaction with people and lives in seclusion.
the only time i'm not reclusive is when life forces me to aka work. i don't talk to anyone i know anymore outside Facebook and rarely on there. the only way i interact with people i know is through text messaging, or the internet.
i probably have a social anxiety disorder but i have no interest in seeking help for it because it doesn't bother me to be this way. i like it.
