With David Beckham retiring, Who would be the NBA version of him? I don't watch much Soccer at all, but I know this guy has been a household name for years. And now that I see he's won 10 'ships, and won at every team he's played for, is this guy the Jordan of the sport? Or was he just a Robert Horry?

Beckham wasnt the Jordan of the sport he was just the most famous and recognizable player. He is huge in Asia and is known as a fashion icon around the world. He is Europe's Kanye west.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a comp.

Dominique Wilkins? Flashy superstar who is perceived as being better than what he actually was....That may not be fair to Beckham from a marketability standpoint but that's the closest i can think of.

He was a very very good player in his prime nonetheless. I liken him to Shaq as far as his career progression, visibility, marketability and skill level.

Both one dimensional one-way players.Reggie with his outside shooting and David Beckham's right foot.Neither did shyt on D.

I don't think I can think of a soccer player that is comparable to MJ, not skill wise but in popularizing the sport like MJ did. Then again, the sport on itself is popular
