I mean Dre might have no interest in being affiliated with Kendrick other than using him for product placements. Who will take the helm at Interscope? They could give it to Eminem if he's interested in a corporate position, he's earned the company enough money . . or if he doesn't take the job then I guess someone at TDE could take the position.

What's the future for the music industry landscape

Jon Connor will never release an album fukkin with Dre

I feel like sometimes Aftermath's business model has included selling dreams to talented up-in-coming writers by signing them to a deal with no intention of releasing them so they can utilize their creative efforts for other projects

Ya, and although most of these people don't speak openly on it they've gotta be salty about the situation. Imagine putting in years of work into something based off the premise that you might someday have a release (which makes sense to you because when you're signed you're promised the world and courted like the next superstar regardless of how they see you or intend to use you) . . these people submitted work on songs that may or may not of evolved into other songs for other artists

Keep in mind Interscope is one of the only companies that accepts unsolicited demos . . Suge Knight just let the cat out of the bag on the whole business model. While artists like Flo-Rida have writers on staff receiving work orders, Aftermath/Interscope is accepting demos and recreating the stuff they see potential in . . why hire staff writers like they do at Sony (well-versed in pop music process) or Warner/Atlantic . . just sign some people and write them off as necessary business operating expense . . then milk them for all of their intellectual property. Hell they applied the same philosophy in their dealings with Monster

How do you know this

the same reason people knew that the Tyrese/Dre video may of violated a non-disclosure agreement, purely speculation based on industry norms.

because corporate structure would usually prohibit him from working with both companies . . it would be a conflict of interest

So you don't know and you're simply speculating

Thanks for your clarity, as if it isn't obvious that this thread is based on the premise of pure speculation as is 50% of the articles published on this deal from all credible news outlets

But here's one for you captain obvious, one might deduce that becoming a billionaire might change things in your life . . perhaps starting with your commitments to work. Or maybe we can assume that this thread is simply a discussion of the issue that's already been stated in articles that the deal might include Jimmy and Dre going over to Apple. As you may of saw some of these articles included Universal Music Group's $400 million stake in the deal would help persuade them to let Jimmy out of his contract early . . so he can pursue his job with Apple. Obviously one might also deduce the type of restrictions in such a deal wouldn't allow for Dre to go off and make another headphone brand with his name on it
