ATL…overly
I'd love for the Falcons to trade down & get more picks specifically on the OL. Clowney is the fan favorite type of move, but in what's shaping up to be one of the biggest off seasons in franchise history, I would think Dimitroff/Smith would be going for sure fire bets that can help protect our 100 million dollar QB. Clowney as the pick doesn't do that

you guys aint going anywhere with that defense, your front 7 is terrible

your offense stopped producing and your defense isnt good enough to compete, thats a formula for failure

The team is built around the offense. Last yr with a decent offensive line, we were a top 5 offense and in the NFC Championship game. This yr, with a depleted line, we have the worst record in football. Defense has been about the same both years and has been consistently mediocre since Mike Smith took over. If this team isn't willing to protect the QB & invest in the line, we'll be seeing more 2 & 3 win seasons

The Falcons aren't getting the 1st pick though. The race for the #1 pick will be between Houston, and Jacksonville with Houston getting the it ultimately

yea but if you had a good defense you still be in contention

teams that depend on average to below average defenses have a hard time staying competitive

look at all the offensive problems the niners have had this year, the only reason there competitive is because of the d

Any team that lets the Bucs put 40 on them is in contention for the #1 pick.

How would yall feel if the falcons got the 1st pick and traded it away for multiple 1st rounders,a.2nd rounder, and a 3:patrice:

:whoa:

Both 1st's, a 2nd and a 3rd? I like Bridgewater, but giving away that much for one player makes me nervous.

Never said they weren't in contention. They're in contention, but realistically it won't happen.

Of those 3 teams, ATL has the most winnable games left. Their next 3 games are winnable. Both Houston and Jax only have 1 winnable game, and that's against each other. Even if the Falcons lost all 5 games remaining, both the Texans and the Jags have have to win 1 game for them to get the 1st pick. And that's not happening.

Possible - Yes
Probable - Nope

Falcons aren't in a position to have a dominant defense, even if you add Clowney. Mediocre LB play, inconsistent Safety play and were young at corner. People shyt on the DL, but truth be told that's our strongest unit on defense. Currently we have more pieces on offense to win now with, but we've gotta improve the line around Matt Ryan. Give him a line that keeps him healthy & he's consistently a top 5-10 level QB. Without even a decent line, he's mediocre at best.

I mean the Falcons knew this & still went into the season with scraps & spare parts starting for us on the OL so they might ignore the OL again to go defense, but I just think of most pressing need is OL

Lombardi is a desperate man:wow: Thats why he made all those trades. Is it too much, probably. But I dont think it matters to him and banner. They'll do anything for that top pick for better or worse:banderas:

I just look at the last two teams to make trades like that and ATL seems like the same team they were before the trade and Rams are getting a top 5/10 pick off that trade with Washington. Maybe we're at that point where it's all or nothing but shyt breh trading all that for one player is something I can't get with.
