@PS4 had his heart set on the Scorpio costing $400. He was so excited he couldn't sleep. Now that the $500 price tag has leaked, everything is being put into question.
I'm not asking if Court can afford this in an effort to mock him, or too make me feel better about my finances. $500 is a lot of money for just about any of us. But for an unemployed father of 3, that's a particularly steep price tag. Put yourself in his shoes. Would you be able to justify $500 on an upgraded version of a console you already own?
He has other financials priorities to put first.
He's gotta pay off that bunk bed he bought on layaway
(got the twin mattresses used on a come up though
)
He's got a $300-ish car note on a late-model Scion xB
...the loan was co-signed though so he can take this as a hit
Food in DC is expensive and he's gotta grab those Great Value oranges
So can Court afford the $500 Scorpio? If not, does the responsibility fall on us, the more fortunate, to get one for him? Do we use GoFundMe? Kickstarter? What is our obligation as a subform?
