Without NYC, Hip Hop would have no direction

Every time I drop by here, I see an irrational hatred and blatant disrespect for NYC and the Hip Hop that comes from this city. Without reactionist or vague arguments as to why, I'm genuinely curious why so many people here hate on NY.

Are the NY haters just that ignorant of where the majority of the cultural composition of hip hop is formed and shaped? Even in the present day, NY is still where hip hop is strongest. Red Bull Music Academy is going on right now and its a month long event that really hits home, how musically strong NYC is. What other city in America has hip hop cinematic events like this happening on a Monday?

I went to an incredible party last night, with cats from the Bronx, Brooklyn, and a DJ from Long Island just throwing down. Brooklyn is one of the only places in America where graffiti has been hybridized into mainstream culture.
Basically, what I'm saying is, the arguments I see here about NY "falling off" or "nowhere what is was in the golden age" come from a very elementary understanding of hip hop culture and NYC.

So lets remove NYC from the equation entirely, and then discuss how better off hip hop music would be without it.
