So apparently the Phoenix Mercury and Vegas Aces gotta play their game 3 playoff game at some college cause Disney on Ice in town and clearly that's a more important event. It's kinda crazy how the L's these teams be taking from not being looked at seriously enough with their lack of revenue. Mickey said fukk gender equality, the mouse is in the god damn house.

Also I had no idea the playoffs started, I think I saw that chick on the liberty make that buzzer beater and that was the last highlight I've seen about the leauge since.

Yeah the playoffs started. Been pretty decent so far too. That mercury vs. liberty game from a few nights ago was :whew:
Sophie Cunningham couldn’t miss a shot if she tried that night. But there ain’t nothing you can do if the mouse is coming to town. If the Mouse wanted to they’d tell the NBA to play in a college arena too

Not going to lie, I was watching one of their games with my family. Def not as athletic as the nba, but their skill is crazy. Especially running an offense.
To me the WNBA is like baseball, on tv it's kinda eh but in person it's a sight to behold at times. Those girls are actually really quick and can put a ton of points on the board if you don't pay attention, but I think they just lack that certain gusto people want from a sport like basketball in this era.

It's unfortunate, but hey. Every sport has its humble beginnings.

NBA Finals games were on TAPE DELAY into the 1980s.

NFL teams used to predominantly play in baseball fields until the 80s. And even then, few like the Raiders still played there into the 2010s.

I feel like if the WNBA or some form of it was started like back in the 70's or 80's it would've done possibly better. The men and women's game would've been more similar with the skill standards back then (of course athleticism would still be different but that's a given) people would've tuned in more. Women's college ball was spectacular as hell from the 80's-90's, they started the product too late

I wonder how long the WNBA can continue going on like this. NBA doing charity work keeping this league going.
I don’t think they can afford to shut it down honestly. That’s always the issue when you make a socially inclusive move. When it doesn’t work, you won’t be celebrated for having made the move, you’ll just get shytted on for ending it.

Any data on late 90s WNBA ratings when Houston had a dynasty?
