EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A woman has been arrested after allegedly buying a Lamborghini and plastic surgery while receiving Medicaid benefits, authorities said.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Candace Taylor, 35, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for alleged Medicaid recipient fraud.
Taylor is accused of using misrepresentation, concealment, and the non-disclosure of required information to apply for and receive Medicaid benefits, according to authorities.
Investigators said Taylor allegedly applied for Medicaid benefits in May of 2019 under the alias “Candace Sailor,” reporting her income as $1,900 bi-weekly and claiming no dependents. The application was denied, but Taylor applied again in 2020 using the same alias, according to authorities.
According to Murrill’s office, Taylor, in fact, had multiple businesses between January of 2020 and December of 2024 that brought in more than $9.5 million across many accounts controlled by her.
After being approved for Medicaid, records show that a bank account for Taylor recorded deposits of more than $480,000 and more than $45,000 in payments to Audi Finance, officials said. They added that Taylor also made many six-figure withdrawals via cashier’s checks to pay for cosmetic surgery, jewelry, property purchases, and luxury services.
In addition, Taylor is accused of making a $100,000 wire transfer to an exotic car dealership and a $13,000 debit card transaction to buy a 2022 Lamborghini.
An arrest warrant was secured for Taylor following a criminal investigation. She was taken into custody on Monday, July 28.

If her earnings are legit then no worries there. Shes stupid as fukk to risk being arrested for fraud just for medicaid benefits when shes such a high earner. the fraud seems to be that she lied about her income level which if thats all, she can afford the lawyer that can get her case minimum charges. May not even go to jail but will have restitution for sure. Problem is she is likely a scammer and thats where her income is from and this will just open her up to getting all her shyt fleeced and locked up.

If she can afford a Lamborghini why is she on medicaid. They think the government won't catch on to their scams.

That’s her company. She may have been getting legit money I thought she was an options trader at first.
Definitely scamming. If not a front company then a company used to defraud Medcaid/Medicare. Which is why she was so comfortable feeling like she could do it for her own health insurance she saw how easy it is to do it for everyone else else's :skip:
