This was an interesting video on an interesting topic
First I was like Nah!!! This is stupid, you should NEVER share salary information.
Then that lady in the pink shirt started talking about how such transparency can help eliminate bias.

And I was like :ohhh: That's a very valid point I did not think of.

With that said I kinda changed my mind on this, I cannot deny that argument.
Only thing is that people will get lower salaries this way out of fear that others would demand the same.

Wage transparency helps workers. I'm not going to clown on her for not playing selfish, though i hope she knew the risks when she "spoke out".

How many black people at her job are getting paid less to do more? And how will they ever find out? How many years?

The idea of saying how much you make being "speaking out" is fukking crazy by the way

People don't seem to respect the fact the salaries are usually negotiated unless you in the military or work at McDonalds or some shyt where it's standardized.
So revealing your pay is just going to cause problems because everyone else always wants more money than they have.

There's probably someone who didn't get a raise at all and she embarrassed the company by exposing preference

Thats all it is basically. Ive worked at low paying jobs that tell you not to discuss salary. Our manager told us what he was making. Only to find out most of us were making more than him. He wasnt bragging maliciously, just telling us where his pay went after working hard and getting a promotion. Only to find out the new employees were making more than him:francis:.

I guess we just negotiated slightly better salaries. Or they lowballed him and failed to increase his pay outta the kindness of their heart. He played it cool at first until we started teasing him:lolbron:.Then he caused an uproar and they made it right. But they reminded everybody about discussing salaries.
