This thread is full of people that don't know how to tell the difference between a real Christian and somebody lying to you. Calling Roman Catholics and Unitarians, and United Methodists Christian when they are known to accept gay lifestyles and other abominations is laughable.
Some of the people who approve of gay lifestyles would be willing to feed a hungry baby.

Some of the people who don’t approve of gay lifestyles would not help feed a hungry baby

:yeshrug:

Personally… I never saw a passage where Jesus approved or disapproved of gays… so I’ll just focus on the things he actually spoke about.

I follow Jesus not the whole bible….

Jesus never said I had to follow the Bible… the Bible didn’t even exist when he was here.

:yeshrug:

I thought you were Christian?

His message on earth was different than the message before.

You know this.

Jesus didn’t tell people to follow a book. Only his word. Too much of the Bible was written before Jesus or after his ascension.

That’s how you end up missing out on the actual message.

Jesus didn’t make some type of mistake and forget to give his complete message while on earth.

His message is complete and all that needs to be understood to be Christ like.

:yeshrug:

Imagine the people who never read the Hebrew texts… and died before the Bible was put together. All their experience was is hearing Jesus’ word.

Would they go to hell because they didn’t follow all the other stuff written? Or did Jesus’ word give them the entirety of what’s needed for salvation?

Once again… you are out here insinuating the Lord is making mistakes.

I think Jesus completed his mission. His word is all that is needed.

Nope. If that's the case, then a lot of shyt is immoral that y'all do now. Jesus is the new covenant. There's a reason why we no longer sacrifice goats and people in worship. Jesus didn't say nothing about half the stuff y'all be going on about, but then you conveniently don't uphold some of the other stuff in the bible either, like how to shave and eating unleaven bread lol

There are two types of religious people:
1. The type that sees their faith as something that is meant to bring them closer to other people.
2. The type that sees their faith as a special club of which as a member, makes them automatically superior to others.

Unsurprisingly, southerners will brutally murder a black man, smile and pose for the camera and then go to church the next day. The "christians" in this country literally don't see others as human beings so this doesn't surprise me. America's version of Christianity is unrecognizable to other sects such as coptic christians and the Christians in places like palestine whom they could care less about. Jesus' birthplace is literally part of Israeli occupied territory in the west bank. They couldn't care less if it's reduced to a pile of ashes and a bunch of people claiming to be jews move in and turn the exact place he was said to be born in, into an ugly house for a billionaire who represents everything Jesus fought against.

that poster is an idiot and i'm convinced he grew up in some "christian" type cult with weird beliefs.

christ came to tear down the systems of divisions that men construct to divide and deprive. that's why he tells us to love them - "the other", like we love ourselves. and you love them - "the other", because they too bear the image of the Godhead. to not love the "other", to construct up egoist divisions in your mind, that divide and deprive humanity, as a follower of Christ, is to not love God and to not walk in the way of the one who came down from the heavenly realm and tore down earthly veils. period.

This chick's intentions could be completely corrupt, but her test was fair and legit. If a Church failed that test, all they can do is hold that L, repent, and "Sin no more". Yes, folks try to scam Churches all the time. I've personally witnessed it at Church myself, but its the Church's job to vet folks out. Almost none of the Churches who turned her down even attempted to see if the caller was legit. I've mentioned it here a few times, I've noticed that in White Evangelical Churches, you see few single moms, in contrast to Black and Latino Churches where single moms tend to gravitate toward them. So I think this tight-wad mentality is rooted in the modern White Evangelical and the Word of Faith (Prosperity Gospel) movements. The modern Mega Church model (Willow Creek) which nearly all White Evangelical Churches use, was designed around luring wealthy and upper middle class families to church, not meet the needs of the community. The Word of Faith movement harbors nearly all the shady Range Rover and Bently driving Pastors you see today, and they are taking more from the poor than giving back. The sad part is these two types of churches now have the bulk of Protestant churchgoers today. So starting in the 90s folks started leaving their community focused store front churches for a mega church or wanna be mega church. Thus fewer churches focus on helping the community.
