I think since its commonly used across the pond it's more offensive...in the states I've never heard someone call somebody that, I don't think it's looked at as more derogatorily here

People over here calling one another "fat c*nts" like it's nothing. But then I've seen American shows like the Simpsons using the word wanker or pissed (to refer to inebriation) like it's nothing. I guess the words just have stronger meanings depending on where you are
