What the hell are you talking about.

If a person wants to work in tech, moving to a city/state that the tech industry is in makes sense. Would you say that looking for a job in tech might lead you to just take any job in tech and ignore the negatives of the position?

You don't spend much time talker to older cats about life decisions huh? Just random logic guiding you.

I’m talking about the exact shyt I wrote, not a career lmao. There was nothing written for you to be so sensitive or defensive about.

A goal for a career or a house is one thing. A goal for something like marriage is another. I AM an older cat (which I also mentioned lol). It’s life experience guiding my logic which worked pretty well for me.

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again as someone whose lived here since I was 14.

You get OUT of the city what you put INTO it. Period. If your a man looking for a wife then they’re here, several of them are here actually. You want a traditional type of wife? You got 2nd-3rd generation African (Ghanian/Nigerian) women who can’t WAIT to get married and live in a traditional marriage. You want a Christian wife? Their a dime a fukking dozen here. You wanna be a polygamist? Its PLENTY of women on that wave. Whatever you want you can find it. Same thing for black women. There’s Lawyers, Doctors, all kinds of upscale brothers in the city who are marriage minded. If your too busy shaking your ass in the club and trying to have a Hot Girl Summer every damn year then guess what? You’re probably NOT going to attract the type of guy whose looking to build and get married. This is common sense.


One thing I can’t speak on is if there’s lot of downlow brothers or not. I’m not about that life or run in those circles so I don’t know if its an astronomical number or if its exaggerated bullshyt. I know there’s a sizable openly Gay community throughout Atlanta and i’ve heard a few first hand horror stories from women who found out their dudes went the other way, but not so many that i’ve ever felt it was an epidemic or something.

The point is that i’ve felt Atlanta is a plenty GREAT city for black people to find significant others. You’ve just got to stop crying and complaining about the few bad apples you came across and focus on the plenty of GOOD people that are out here. There are black great men of upstanding moral fiber that live here just as there are some wonderful women. Hell most dudes could go on Hinge and find at least THREE plenty good candidates. I’d wager its the same for women

I actually went out with this chick who later found out her boyfriend was on the DL. It messed her head up so bad, she was in the process of writing a book about men on the DL. At the same time, she had just released this song on YT, about this dude who messed over her. I'm assuming it was the same dude. As pretty as this chick was for her age, she had too much going on for me. Asking me how I liked this song about some other dude, and throwing this new book on DL men in my face, which was still all about him, just so I could get some a**, wasn't worth it, not to mention the other bs. I was better off dating a young girl forreal.

And my response was highlighting situations I know of personally where it’s the opposite and women getting well taken care of. Basically saying, hell naw that ain’t the norm. Atlanta is even made fun of for their tricking culture. It’s a lot of Atlanta nikkas who got it who ain’t tripping on spending no money. Breh we paying bytches

Speaking of women being straight out here, I heard this older brother say something on this Black Talk Radio program yesterday. It was something I heard about Atlanta Black women back in 95', when one of my brothers was living down here. But this dude on the radio applied this to all Black women in the country. Anyway, this dude said Black women are always claiming they want a Black man who is financially successful and all, but down inside, she still rather be the breadwinner, because she's too scared to give up all the power this White system gave her over her Black male counterpart all these years. The federal government is a prime example. You have all these Black women who are GS 12's and above, while so many Black men are barely GS 7's. The average grade for a Black man in the federal government is probably a GS 5, or not much higher.

I lived in Atlanta for a few years. I moved there for a change of scenery. It IS true. The men there aren't much. I was only dating casually because I knew the men weren't shyt there but when I hit my 30s and was ready to settle with one person, I knew I couldn't find that in Atlanta so I moved back to my old state. I had my own house, great job, etc, you know, shyt you're SUPPOSED to have as an adult and dudes I met swore they found a come up. Tried moving in, asking for money, all of that. Of course it was a hell no on my end. And let's not talk about if the guy has a car AND his own place, now he's hot shyt and thought he was above everything. Grown ass 30+ year olds bragging about a roof and 4 wheels.

And let's not forget the fake ass ballers that try to trick you with a Charger with rims and a Gucci belt but sleeping on their mom's couch or living with their baby momma or wife. Whew, the shyt I came across while living there.

Not trying to put you down or anything, but tbh, this is kinda old news, and it has always been the norm. It just doesn't get to the media too often, not even Black radio. This has been a practice since slavery. If you get a chance, check out some of Dr. Claude Anderson's books and videos. He has research proving most female slaves were given house duties, plus the duty of overseeing male field slaves, and supervising children garbage camps. You still see traces of this going on today.

I can’t get that shyt for the life of me. We don’t even have a beach. All the things people look for here can be found elsewhere or created elsewhere, especially in the south. Houston, Dallas, Charlotte, etc. I don’t hate that people move here. I hate to see so many people come here and end up miserable because they expect one thing but find a playground. Atlanta is just a giant Highschool lunchroom where everybody hang around until the bell rings for the first class of the day. It’s not the same city it was in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Not my experience. Atlanta men been good to me. But I’ve only talked to men actually born and raised in Atlanta or Georgia in general. I stay away from the transplants, that’s who really be giving the problems. But those real Georgia southern gentlemen
