Rating the opposite sex based on statistics has been increasingly popular with the rise of the internet. Not surprisingly the people on the internet who are the most vocal about their partners requiring a very specific parameter of statistics are the most likely to be single and unhappy.
Most people don't obsess over statistics. They just want a partner they find attractive.
Between two men, a woman is going to pick the one she finds most attractive. A woman who is say 5'4" is going to take an attractive 5'8" guy over a plain looking guy that is 6'2". This accounts for why so many guys I know who are 5'7" to 5'8" routinely get attractive women. A couple of whom I've never actually seen with women shorter than them.
Tall women don't really obsess over height, because at 5'10" and above, they know it isn't in their interest to be picky. In my experience, the women who are most obsessed with height are 5'6" and below.
At the end of the day everyone has their preference. It is no big deal if a few women don't like a guy because there are always a few women who do.
