Talked with a colleague who is interested in some of my educational research.
Might gotta.

But I’m worried about traveling alone as a black female. I will read up on some blogs and stuff. Otherwise, any of ya’ll six cert, six figures got any experiences?
I know three people who worked in different sectors over there a couple of years ago. For one position for a 3 year contract as an assistant professor of education, my starting pay would be $125,000.

Sounds too good to be true:patrice:

I have a cousin who does business with Dubai and travels there.
He's a male though.
I would definitely keep going through the interview and seeing what it entails.
I'm sorry that's all I have.

If you're American, you'll be fine. They have seen plenty of american black women...there's no threat and folks will leave you alone for the most part (people will hound you to buy stuff)
I guarantee you some of these never travelled mfs on this site will say otherwise but I promise you in a semi-westernized place like UAE you'll be ok.

Don't get me wrong, 'cism exists everywhere but in those developed middle eastern cities (Doha, Dubai, AD) the only color that really matters is green.

Stay away from Saudi Arabia though :scust:

PM me if you want more info

Thanks! I will! I’m starting to think a lot of people aren’t as well traveled as they claim. Ah well. The world is waiting!

Edit: I’m also waiting for my old boss’ wife to call me back. They went back in 2009 and stayed for 5 years. Now they are early retirees who settled in another country overseas. They loved it. So I’ll see what they say too!

You should be good as an American and as long as you are not doing some labor job. Would still research a lot and try to have someone there who can guide you. Always good to have a friend in a country you have never been

If everything is on the up and up, definitely do it. Can't beat the professional and personal experiences. Any country that has Lamborghini taxis is worth a try but that heat. :damn:

I’m single without children so they be telling me to go everywhere.:mjlol: So far I’ve only lived in Japan, Canada and Thailand. My passport getting kinda dusty.

Lol! RIGHT!

The biggest issue would be convincing my parents but I could help them retire! Sending 2k home a month and paying off student loans and STILL having play money:banderas:

My ass trying to figure out how they get so much water to the desert. That’s the type of stuff I be :patrice: about. Also I read an article that the city was built off Bangladeshi slave labor:patrice:

Then again when I thought about it, America was built off African slave labor so that deaded that concern.:deadmanny:
