Man, as a former gym rat, building my own home workout gym honestly has felt like a cheat code. You can get a resistance machine with a weight bench for as much as a PS5. Dumbbells average $20-70. Squat rack $100-200. I may sound pretentious but if you’re looking for cardio go find a hill to run up or basketball court or Yoga.

What I’m getting at is what you’re spending on memberships and gas + 0 time wasted waiting for someone to finish their set or having to go late at night when the gyms empty, can easily be recouped with a home gym.

To had to that there are a plethora of YouTube workout channels with people that no what they are doing.

The gym just seems irrelevant to me but that could just be the flat top :flabbynsick: talking.

My apartment complex has a gym and I wouldn't work out anywhere else barely anybody uses it so it's like having a private gym.

Plus I don't wanna go to public gyms anymore.
Stupid annoying gym rats with their camera phones.
:scust:
Sweaty equipment that people don't wipe down.
:scust:
I rather work out alone anyways.

I may eventually have a home gym but the routine of forcing myself to make the trip is part of the commitment factor.
The trip was always the worst part for me. I’m not a David Goggins cat. I’d be looking for any excuse not to go in that mutherfukker, especially when I had kids. :mjlol:

With a gym at home it’s nothing to throw on a movie and get some work in.

I use to prefer the home gym thing

Even spent some bread on gym equipment

But its nice to go somewhere and lift , have plenty of room to do your thing. You can only have so much at a home gym.

Plus you get some eye candy in the mirror

Potential networking opportunities

Lotta pro’s , looking back only thing i can see as a pro on a home gym is you not having to wait on shyt.

Depends. Some people love the social aspect of going to a gym.

Some people get extra motivation from seeing other people with the body they hope to have one day.

When I did go to a gym it was at a point I was working nights and I would go after I got off in the morning so it wasn't too crowded.

After I started working days I would go to the gym during peak hours and I disliked it so I started building a home gym and I've been on that wave ever since.

Then we're opposite. I'm too comfortable at home and I'm sure I'll be on "fukk it them weights literally ain't going nowhere" time. You walked out and started the car you gon do something

Disagree. One, I’ll never have the amount of equipment available to me that’s at the gym. Two, I like dedicated spaces, being at the gym gives a whole different level of energy than home workouts. Three, I get an extra push from working out around people, there’s always someone I want to be better or stronger than - other times someone is doing their thing and I aspire to get there. Four, it forces me to a schedule, home workouts “get pushed to whenever”, making time for the gym means this is the time I have to go - no compromises. Lastly, I enjoy getting out my house, I still WFH, no need to be doing every fukking thing here

For me, it's not even a question, unless you just want to be around people for motivation but not me :hubie:

I WFH and have a home gym and the only problem is I have absolutely no excuse to not get it in

I disagree but that’s because being at the gym helps further motivate me. It’s not the same as like when I’m on my peleton or in the garage.
