He should not be able to walk around free on bail, considering how heinous his crime is and how evidently dangerous he is to women.

The district attorney’s filing also states that Delong confessed to law enforcement that he attacked the woman, that he did not like her and he had “been planning to kill the victim for some time.”

I personally do not care about his motivation, but instead care more about how little the justice she is receiving by letting him continue to walk free. At the end of the day, he still took a sledgehammer to the head of a female, no matter what her alleged sexual orientation is.

I'm not surprised because I've seen several cases where people are able to get out on bail despite heinous crimes, lately. All depends on where you are at and who you know/aligned with.
