All of that media talk by folks no different than us, yet they can't gauge or include how the Cubs (third largest media market) and indians combined with them not winning in years didn't effect the numbers?

I work for a media agency. Even we KNEW that this was going to mess with our numbers seeing this.

amazing...this was obvious.

My point is yall dismissed OP as some Coli loon or troll for simply presenting the data. When its pretty much what EVERYONE in the media was discussing in the same context. It's a real story. Not just a Coli talking point for attention.

Yall treated this thread like dude said Ralph Tresvant is bigger than Michael Jackson, or something unrealistically asinine..

What do you mean "yall?"

I work in media where we monitor spend. We knew the WS would outdo Sunday's game. These pubs generate trash around the obvious and dudes are swallowing it whole.

Who didn't see this coming? We talked about this last Friday before leaving the office that we had to wait until today to correct our numbers based on the WS and football, the latter likely taking up the rear.

You are saying that everyone knew this was going to happen. While people who actually work for the NFL and major media outlets are saying that its shocking.

I realize you are in a different position to obtain data and information. But do you really expect people that post on The Coli to have more insight than NFL employees?

I don't care. They eat, shyt and sleep just like me. I get Nielson, Kantar and other audience data. I know more than any of those dudes with regards to audience data and how we forecast. We knew the WS would beat out Sunday night football.

I'm pretty sure that I hate 'ratings' talk more than anybody on the planet. I think it's pointless and meaningless and it's one of the most annoying things in the world. That said, y'all can't have it both ways. You can't laugh and say 'baseball is dying' when the NFL is (ALWAYS) beating it in ratings, then turn around and say 'of course baseball won, it was an elimination game in the World Series' when they lose.

Yes, the Cubs are bringing in viewers. That's being said like it's a bad thing. It's not. But you know what? The COWBOYS and Eagles played opposite them, a good COWBOYS team with young stars, and a good Eagles team with a good young QB. Oh, and it's SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. Two years ago, hell, one year ago, the NFL doesn't lose this 'battle', no matter who it had opposite the Series. But they got beat pretty bad, with what would be, if they had a choice, a Top 5, maybe Top 3 matchup going against it. There's really no way to spin that.
:mjlol: @ you thinking the ratings more about the Cubs than the Indians
