The following are cartoons by Leslie Gilbert Illingworth, the great British cartoonist, about the Second World War

The League Of Nations was in despair. As France and Britain were dealing with German aggression, Russia was picking on little Finland

Churchill warns that staying neutral is not going save little nations from Nazi aggression.

General Franco the ruler of Spain, shrewdly remained neutral during WW2. Hitler ands Mussolini tried to get him to join their side but in vain.

Just thought I would make a thread on these old classic political cartoons and the meaning behind them....straightforward but just goes back to show the wit of some of these cartoonists in the midst of a War as big as this....

There are some more in the link below:

i'm not saying you are.

I don't remember if it was in the link of the site in my original post....but do you recall that infamous photo during the early 1900s(so it probably wasn't in the link then lol) of a Lion(UK) and a Bear(Russia) in a standoff fighting over the dead dragon of the Quing Dynasty(Boxer Rebellion)

We should put that picture up in one of these main threads on Russia....its funny how history can change back and forth...Now while the lion of Great Britain is flabby and not how it used to be.....that flismy dragon is now Shenron :wow: :banderas:
