Ernie

Isiah was dealing with the mess Ernie created in the 1990s.

:whoa: No he wasn't, the mess he inherited was all Scott Layden's. Houston contract, Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson contracts, Nene and Camby for McDyess, horrible draft picks on that team were all Layden's work.

Oh snap, I forgot about the Camby and Nene deal. :skip:

Yeah, Ernie was fired in 1999 I believe and the Knicks subsequently made that historic run to the finals. Afterwards he was in Milwaukee and took credit for building an Eastern Conference finals team :rudy: ... his best move there was drafting Redd in 2000 in the 2nd round.

And then he's been here since 2003 and just will never be fired. Leonsis is going to go down as the most loyal owner in sports management at this rate.

I understand Ernie's wrecked your shyt, but y'all tryna rewrite history :skip:

That 99 team was his he traded for Starks for Spree and Oakley for Camby. People hated both moves and we had a terrible season compared to expectations. Grunfeld wanted Van Gundy to take the fall, Ewing wanted Van Gundy to stay and IIRC Van Gundy didnt like the deals either. The whole season was chaotic. Grunfeld ended up being the fall guy, but came out smelling good when they made the finals run.

I didnt defend Zeke, just saying there was a mess before he arrived.

The Original Rec Room Gang
Please lord, take this man away from the Wizards
The wiz once again, don't need help. The players they have need to continue to get better.

We upgraded our bench, specifically the pg position. Year 2under Brooks will be better, that's good enough for the ecf at the very least.

Then next year we'll get DeMarcus. I don't get why you think we supposed to sign all these players every year :stop: we are on a steady incline, why not pay attention to how we improved instead of acting like you know how it'll turn out?

Because over the years you been wrong way more than you been right
