Mainstream was sh!tty as usual but Souls of Mischief put out an album that damn near rivals their debut, Ras Kass put out his best album since his debut as well and Quik put out another dope album. Pharoahe Monch put out another great album. Mega and Extra P put out a great album. Opio and Equipto put out a dope followup to their 2011 collab. Dilated Peoples put out a solid if somewhat boring album. ALC released another great produced joint with EV in Step Brothers. Phesto D of Souls put out a dope solo joint on bandcamp. Edo G came out with another solid joint.
Overall it was cool but slow year. Just happy Souls/Quik/Monch/Rassy came through for me.
