I’d surmise that a lower demand would make the drugs that do sell more valuable, increasing the violence employed to retain those sales.

Yes but not as much as people claim tbh. nikkas still kill over "disrespect", hoods, women, money from scamming, respect, etc. But I would say drugs drops it down a good 30-40%.

People that are gang members might sell drugs for the dealers, because the dealers benefit the gangs with money.

But most gangs are strictly about Cold Hard Cash & Brotherhood.

As long as you have concentrated areas of poverty you are going to deal with violence.

The gangs are just a symptom. Poverty is the sickness.

Everyone wants to be a part of something and they'll do it by any means necessary. This is not to mention the protection, sense of family, continuity, that type of brotherhood typically offers.

I dont think out of wedlock children cause gangs.
Might be surprising but a report showed
family disorginazitation/ single motherhood is a reflection of poverty not a cause of it.

Yeah, but not having that positive male role model in the house is a problem. There are all kinds of issues we as men face on a daily basis, and not having another man to discuss it with can be a problem.

Plus, girls having babies young puts them in a position where they may not be able to go to college, and they get a blue collar job, or become dependent on the government.

I also believe data or information trading might soon be a real thing on the streets in the near future as we become more global and technologically dependent
