With the shift from rural to urban living, agricultural jobs are dwindling, even more so among the black population. Would any of yall start a new career in the agriculture field? That means no weekends turning up in the city, living in a small town, and getting your hands dirty. But it could also net you some good profit if you are able to sell to big corporations.

With gentrification happening all over the country, I actually think more and more black people will start to move back into rural areas. Have any of yall ever thought about buying farm land if you had the means and profiting off growing crops?

Well the good thing about modern times is we have heavy equipment to make it less back-breaking work. It's not glamorous but it should be a viable life for some people. Have I considered it? No, and I wouldn't jump at it because I'm in no hurry to go back to physical labor to support myself. You're at the mercy of your knowledge and the climate/environment though.

Something I want to look into myself. Agriculture is huge in Louisiana particularly in the part where I stay there's sugar cane , cotton , crawfish ponds , rice , etc everywhere. I think I'd want to raise cattle probably at a commercial level.

Yes, I am considering transitioning to farm life once I hit 40 or so.
My pa owns a farm out in Henry County, GA so hopefully I can inherit it.

I was thinking of the same thing bruh but I’d do it in middle GA near the Fort Valley area.

Every time I drop my bro off to school down there I see nothing but land

What part of Henry Co?
I stay in the tri County are where Fayette, Clayton & Henry all meet up

Farms don't have to be rural. Plenty of urban farms that grown/ raise decent produce. Many rural farmers in America are having a very tough time right now.

Yea, but the type of person that i am, I’d rather move out to the country away from everything. I’m not really a city person.

I bet the Mississippi River has the land down there real arable

I kinda picked that up from the op, just a thought. If you go that route also look into alternative energy and rain water recovery. Initial overhead will be more but your farm will sustain itself better and be cheaper to operate.
