didnt read the comments but i'm confident big would have still been an icon. he was that special and had all the tools to be a superstar

I honestly believe he wouldn't be icon status like he is now. As nice as he was I didn't like the direction he seemed to be going in on LAD. He'd still be a legend but I don't think he'd be anybodys top 5

I personally feel like Junior Mafia would've brought him down, and he eventually would've had a huge fallout with Puff. Definitely wish we would've seen that.

But from a skills perspective, I think he could've rhymed with anybody at any time...would've adjusted to anything. He was that skilled and clever.

Big was getting hated on like shyt before he passed from fans and peers alike...who knows where that story would've went, especially with him running with Puff and the inevitable backlash that was coming from making super glossy hip hop.

its just hard to picture Big falling off to the point that he wouldnt be top 5 status because he was ridiculously talented.

but again, we appreciate that far more in death than we do in real time..you have too much success and people be itching to get you up outta here.

Yes. U don't put out an album like RTD (1 of the most best albums of not only the 90's but of all time) only to not be an icon.
Now obviously, like any artists' passing, their deaths taps into their legacy and contributes more but this doesn't take away from the great artist Biggie was.
All his peers who dropped classic debut albums are icons so why wouldn't he still have been?
