Back in 2001 I was a 17 yr old in IWF. Alumni include Darren Young and Rob E of TNA. I trained for 3 months in the summer before college began. It was some of the most fun I ever had. Ultimately when i went to college I never traveled back to finish the training and I had a tag match and battle royal under my belt. When looking at guys the size of the Rock and Taker I figured I would need to juice to high hell to make it in the WWE environment and just stuck with school and now i'm a financial planner. However looking at the E now and Daniel Bryan I always wondered what would have happened had I just stuck with it. This is Rob E when he was known as Rob Eckos

He was my age and I was a little taller and bigger than him at the time but the dude was already a year in and could work his ass off. I was mesmerized by the stuff he could do in the ring. This is him today

this is me today doing a terrible wrestling gimmick poses with a duckface I didn't realize until after the fact lmao

My gimmick was going to be Tigerheart and I would come out to Eye of the Tiger with a headband like RYU tiger patterned tights and black boots and the bands Ultimate Warrior had on his arm and boots for extra flair....where would I be today

In some high school ROH type promotion
Picking up my food stamps on the way to a TNA taping
O doing some Fandango type gimmick on a WWE B show?

Depends....

Were you a good spotter and able to carry a good qty of luggage at once?

And we're you willing to be pat Patterson"s protege?

:ld:

lmao damn I gotta through the the Pat Patterson tour of the E to have made it...i guess thats why robbie can't even sniff the E lol

I was definitely small and quick and was more like warrior and Rock where i emphasized things for show but I was green only 3 months in so at some point I would have learned ring psychology

edit: oh snap I just got the reference...and yeah i'd be carrying HHH's luggage for years if I had to haha

Never know, you look like you would've fit in during the X Division's peak but WWE from 02-10 doesn't seem like a place you would've fit in.

Why you never went back?

If i went back I wouldn't want to half ass it and I'd need to put my heart into it. Just turned 30 so if it was going to happen it would have to happen sooner than later...ironically Kevin Knight re-opened IWF and sent me an email...maybe its something I can train for on the weekends but you also have to travel to different places for wrestling shows to get a sniff at a WWE tryout and working for a firm it would be kind of tough to figure out how to do both

IMO, if you made it to ROH/Tna or any kind of WWE show that's "making it", assuming you love to do it. Depends on how good a worker you were. If you wrestled like Warrior in Robbie E's body you wouldn't make it anywhere. Robbie E's a pretty good worker, if you got that good and did your gimmick well you might've gotten a TNA/ROH spot or main event/occasional SD/raw appearance deal in WWE.

There's way more opportunity than just the WWE. Especially if you LOVE it, getting to travel and doing something you love. Nothing tops that
