Would ‘Juice’ had been a better movie if not for the horror twist ?

I was thinking about how across the board Boyz and menace are universally considered the best hood movies

Even baby boy is up there for millennials

The one thing I notice is LA films weee basically coming of age, which makes them more relatable with more scenarios we all related to


This is basically what Juice was prior to Raheem being killed

And honestly outside of clapping Radames the movie gets wack after that


I know it sounds crazy but if they let Juice continue to remain a coming of age film with typical Harlem shyt going on at the time do you think it would’ve been more acclaimed and on the same level of hood prestige as Menace and Boyz?

IMO the 5 hood movies that I see in the top 5 the most

Then it might not have been memorable.
There have been plenty of hood movie's that have come and gone that rarely get talked about anymore.
It may not be exactly in thetop five but it has definitely stood the test of time.

Yeah it could've been soo much better but yeah it went left. It's still a classic tho, especially the "cutting class and getting into some shyt part". shyt I'm an outlier on the Boyz in the Hood plot I would've loved more of the kids plot after Doughboy goes to jail.
