Would Wilt be the GOAT if he was born 2 years earlier?

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
He would've entered the NBA draft at the same time as Bill Russell and he would've been the first pick taken in that draft by the Boston Celtics (interesting enough the Celtics could've had Bill Russell as well since he was picked 3rd overall then traded to Boston).

If he put up the same or similar numbers in Boston and got 11 rings, would Wilt be the undisputed GOAT? He would've had the stats and the rings. Hell he may have even had more titles than Russell.

Wilt isn't the GOAT because he was a notorious choke artist in the biggest games and was repeatedly sonned in the playoffs.

Sam "Mr. Clutch" Jones of the Cs hit game winners over Wilt in the playoffs. Even Bill Russell called him out for faking injuries in the face of inevitable defeats in the playoffs.

He was definitely an athletic prototype and was a menace in the league but he can't be the GOAT given his reputation for frontrunning and faking injuries every time he came up short in the playoffs.

This is a box score of when the Wilt lost a game 7 to Boston.

Philadelphia Warriors at Boston Celtics Box Score, April 5, 1962 | Basketball-Reference.com

He played the entire 48 minutes. If 22 points and 22 rebounds is choking then I'll take that.

It's easy to reinvent history when video proof isn't readily accessible.

In that SAME series against the Celtics Wilt put up 56 and 37 on Russell while Russell had 9 points on 4 of 14 shooting.

That doesn't disprove anything I posted.

I say 2-3 years later would have been better. More games on film and facing Kareem in his prime.
