I would've before my kid but I wouldn't take the route you have drawn. I would take the 5 down to Bakersfield then the 58 to the 40 on to Albuquerque then the 25 up to Denver then I would head east on the 70 until Salina then head south until OKC and then back on the 40 until Memphis, just to avoid Texas. And from there Nashville to Atlanta then head east until you get to the 95 and head on down from there.
My way would put at least 2 more days on the trip but in Idaho, Montana, and South Dakota black people stand out so much it's almost guaranteed you'll be pulled over. I would avoid Texas because they have way too many pop up check points where shyt could go wrong.
And the vehicle would be a medium sized American made suv like a chevy traverse.
