I don't mind, and even kind of aspire to, efficiency, even if it comes off cold. I made a joke once about relationships/dating and using like the indictment federal format for that. Like a charging document to end a relationship.
I think a lot of this is about the gamification of the dating process (and life in general) through tech and social media/phones.
To me, the thrill or interest in dating is meeting different types of people, with differences and common ground in our lives. I don't want to check boxes, but I also look at is as a process, not a means to an end, to "find someone". For people who are looking to "find the one", this is a technique to avoid "wasting time", wheras to me, the "wasted time" is all I really want.
I will say there has to be some sort of ego factor to people who are probably HIGHLY overvaluing their time, even a date the way I would ask someone to, somewhere stylish and classy, looking at like 90 minutes to 2 hours, tends to run long, and we have fun. These people don't make $600 an hour, in almost all cases. But the burn out from dating apps, I can understand, though I do not engage.
This not much different than Hinge questions.
