Personally, I would. ICE commits crimes such as acts of slavery (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...violation-of-anti-slavery-laws/?noredirect=on), illegal detainment, warrant-less arrests and seizures, and are agents of the Homeland Security Act and the Patriot Act, which are two of the most egregious infringements of constitutional rights in American history.

They lock up children and separate families. They've arrested the wrong people countless times, and have deported people wrongfully. They are a disgusting agency.

ICE costs about the same per year as the proposed wall.

The wall is just a campaign promise and doesn't actually resolve any issues compared to the alternatives. That is what I think of when it comes to the wall vs ICE, but if I had to choose one to get rid of...

The wall is garbage. If Trump were serious, he'd reinforce the Secure Border Act of 2006 (the one Hillary and Obama voted for). You're right tho...the wall is purely political.

I'd eliminate both, but you know that would never happen.

:russ: This is why I don't like/trust any politicians

-The dems have convinced folks that funding a wall would hurt you more than a government shutdown
-Then once you've completely embraced that lie, they told you that negotiating/swapping a major legislation for a major legislation wasn't better than being able to say #TrumpFolded
-For context, Schmer offered $25 billion for wall funding in exchange for benefits to non-illegals DACA, but then convinced citizens that negotiating a major legislation for them wasn't better than teaching the President a lesson

....too many of the same folks that fell for this okiedoke are also claiming to be about reparations. Stop it. So we are to believe that you are going to stay steadfast to this cause while placing pressure on the same dems that convinced you about the "dangers" of funding a wall:mjgrin:

What will the wall resolve?

Nothing. I no more want a Wall than I want a fence. They are both equally as effective. Which is not at all. A fence or a Wall is basically the same. Dems will vote for a fence. GOP will vote for a Wall. They're voting for semantics.

Get me actual immigration reform:
  • Mandatory e-verify.
  • Track the visas.
  • Fine business who hire illegal immigrants.
  • Add more border patrol.
  • More hi-tech tools to see migrants and tunnels and stop them.
  • End the war on weed.
  • Extend TPS.
  • Put DACA and Dreamers on a path to legal residency.

Other than that, it's all bullshyt.

Eliminate ICE for what exactly? :gucci:, to protect Hispanics?

It's probably unnecessary. ICE has only been around for 15 years and as far as I know the government was able to deal with immigration fine before then.

I'm ambivalent about ICE myself but they do seem to engage in a lot of questionable behavior.
