What are your thoughts on this?

Would it depend on the neighbors or would you not give a shyt about them?
If that is a possible deal breaker then do you think you could convince yourself and just tolerate the neighbours for the sake of the comfort?

Do you think there should be way more affordable gated communities throughout the country?

This youtube comment from the below video I found interesting:

"The richer you are the more you isolate yourself from the peasants . Private schools , private airfare , VIP at events , home in a gated community . It’s a way upper middle class can feel a part of the feudal system."

The Truth
Always

Even in apartments I grew to know that I need a gate, 24/7 surveillance, and cameras.

Just from previous experience of having vehicles targeted, crazy women trying to come to my apartment without my knowledge, etc.

Once you get things you appreciate, you try to protect it as much as possible.

As far as that comment, him using the word “peasant” shows the type of person he/she is. I would just say to protect yourself/belongings better especially if you have shyt you want to protect

an increasing amount of gated communities in the richest country in the world is not a good sign of a healthy society.

wealth inequality needs to be addressed in a big way.

yes

moved into a gated community in queens

and then in jersey

public streets = public fukkery

also rep to @O.T.I.S. because nobody usin the word peasants, whoever they quoted is a P.o.s.

most my neighbors are middle class, snobbery is very low
Right

Because not being a “peasant” doesn’t mean you're not a racist, an idiot, a shytty person, etc.

I prefer not to be around them either, fukk their money. I’m in a gated community to defer stupid shyt from happening to my property and to have some kind of record (digital, visual, written logs, human, etc). for if something does happen to my property.

That’s it. It has been more helpful against crazy bytches more than anything.

Hell naw, I ain't living in a gated community and ain't paying no HOA:scust:

If I had the money to stay in a gated community I'd just stay in a rural area close to the highway

Not totally against it, but probably not. The ones in NY are overpriced and. The HOA fees are ridiculous. I’d rather have a nicer house in an affluent neighborhood with more traditional aesthetics.

A gated community is an illusion of social hierarchy that does not really mean anything in the grand scheme of things

You get the same Plumbing, Electricity, and Wifi that people who don't live in a gated community get. But it's up to the Real Estate agents to oversell "exclusivity" I guess lol
