Not O'Block or New Orleans East hood. Let just say you inherited a house in the hood you grew up in. So you know quite a few people there. A small clean, decent home on decent street, but a block or away there are shootings and a murder or two a year within a few blocks. You see crackheads, goons and drunks walking pass daily, but for most part if you mind your business no one bothers you.
Would you live in the Hood, if it allows you to save 1500$ to $2,000 a month?

Not really, there ain't situation where all the nikkas in the hood agree to leave you the fuq alone. Something is going to happen that's going to effect you and your home eventually, stray bullet, home invasion, theft, breaking/entering etc.Of course when you put it that way. Because there are levels to "living in the hood"
Most home invasions are inside jobs. So you can be careful about who you bring around,or looking like you have alot. Stray bullets are very unlikely to effect you.
Sure the hood has a crime element. But the level of ignorance of the people matters. In most hoods the people are just poor and some will do what they have to do. But I was in a hood in some part of Orlando,and sadly most of the people I came accross seemed mildly retarded. You have hoods where THE PEOPLE are ignorant AND confrontational in their ignorance. The people are who determine what kind of hood you live in. And it really doesnt take that many people on one block to make your living arrangment a nightmare,and leave you in a constant state of being prepared to have to shoot somebody every day you leave the house
You can raise your children fine in poverty. Its much harder raising them around a bunch of people constantly spewing and pushing ignorance every which a way. Damn near every neighbor and even every child more ignorant than the next

Im good on that. Not worth the stress. The violence and bullshyt is too random and unpredictable especially nowadays. I would still keep the house and rent that shyt out while living somewhere else though

I do , and I've had no issues outside of family backdooring me. Crime is usually some personal or gang shyt , but I don't really hear about it unless I see it on the news or social media.
