My grandmother and grandfather? Yes.

Had they been alive at the time, they would have done hella research into him and his family and his finances as well as asked numerous questions and observed his behavior/character and ambition over time before picking him out and giving him their stamp of approval. They both understood that love and attraction is not necessarily the most important thing in terms of long-term marriage compatibility but rather good character, stable finances and shared values.
